Follow the simple steps outlines below, and you’ll be on your way with monetizing your site!

What do we me by “monetizing” your site? Site monetization is when you place ads and other types of links on your website for the sole purpose of getting paid when your visitors click on them. Monetizing your site can be accomplished through a number of popular methods. Some of the most popular are:

• Banner Ads. Using banner advertisements is a simple, effective and popular way to add potential revenue to your website or blog. Your site already has banner ads in it. Just change them to suite your needs. Click here to manage your banner ads (if you’re logged-on), otherwise you can go to the dashboard and click “Ad Manager” at any time.
• Google AdSense. You can easily add Google AdSense to your site. AdSense will read your page or blog content and place textual ads that are relevant to that content. Google will pay you for every ad that is clicked on. (Note: don’t try to add Google AdSense to your site until the content is complete and your site has been “live” for at least a few weeks… you’ll get rejected. Also… once it’s installed, never click on your own ads!)
• Automatic Affiliate Links. There are several plugins available for adding automatic affiliate links to your site. You can explore these options from your dashboard under Wealth Builder->Site Monetization or, you can click here if you’re logged-on. Auto affiliate links work somewhat like Google AdSense. Once activated, the plugin will parse your content and automatically link key words to affiliate sites and you will get the credit if a purchase is made.
• PayPal Donation Buttons. This is a very popular option. It works particularly well with hobbyist sites and niche markets. Simply activate the plugin from your dashboard under Wealth Builder->Site Monetization (or, you can click here if you’re logged-on), configure it with your PayPal account and place the “Buy Me a Beer” or “Make a Donation” button onto your sidebar.

There are many additional plugins available and more involved ways to monetize your site. Explore and implement the option I’ve outlined above and you’ll be on your way to making some money with our web site. You’ll learn more as you go along.

If you’re not logged-in to your dashboard, you should do so now. The following links will not work unless you’re logged-in. Here are five quick thing you can do to get started:

1. Get a PayPal Account. For most of you, this is a given. But, at opportunex™ we promised not to skip any steps! So, this is the first thing you’ll need to do. Click here to set up your PayPal Account. PayPal provides the easiest and most secure way to get paid and make payments online. Most, if not all of your online revenue will be processed via PayPal.
2. Get Affiliated! The first thing you’ll want to do, if you haven’t already, is get set up as an affiliate. One of the easiest and best things you can do is to get set up as an Amazon Associate. Amazon.com is the “Wal-Mart of the web”. Once you have an account, you can sell anything that amazon.com has to offer!

   Next, you should sign-up with a variety of affiliate networking sites. From there you can find products that are directly suitable to your niche or market segment. Here are a few affiliate sites to get you started: ClickBank, PayDotCom, and PayLoadz. These are all great sites that are free and easy to use.

3. Consolidate your Affiliate Links. It can be hard to keep track of all of your affiliate links. Opportunex™ has made management of your affiliate links super easy thanks to a plugin from WinkPress.com. From your dashboard, select Links->Affiliate Links or just click here to get started.

   Simply enter a name for each affiliate link, add the original link URL provided by the vendor and create your own custom link to it (I use http://www.opportunex.com/go/affiliatename). This will keep all of your affiliate links in one place and give you a set of custom links you can remember. Next, modify your banner ads with your new links by clicking here (if you’re logged-in) or from the dashboard by selecting “Ad Manager”.

4. Setup an Autoresponder. We’ve already prompted you to get a MailChimp and an AWeber account during the setup process. If you don’t have an account, get one now… these services will become more and more relevant to generating traffic an building your customer base as you move along. Once you have your accounts, set up your autoresponders. An autoresponder consists of a series of emails that you set up to be automatically sent to your subscribers. Next, go to your Widgets Area (Appearance->Widgets from your dashboard) and add a list signup form to your sidebar.
5. Build a Squeeze Page. Squeeze Pages are websites that have no exit points. They are used as an internet destination for traffic generated by your marketing efforts. A properly designed squeeze page offers only one option to visitors “Buy Now” or “Subscribe to My List”. When used properly, your squeeze page can quickly grow your marketing lists and help generate substantial affiliate income. Log-in to your dashboard to create your first squeeze page and use the “Build New Websites” dashboard widget to create a new site. Make sure to select one of the squeeze page templates from the template options. It’s all pretty self-explanatory from there.

There are many options and strategies that you can use that will help your web site make money. These are just a few options for you to explore. So you’ve published your first site in opportunex™… Congratulations! Unless you’re a professional blogger, website designer or expert affiliate marketer, you’re probably thinking “what do I do now?!” Don’t worry. We’ve got it all figured out for you.

Just read along, follow these simple steps and before you know it, you’ll be an expert!

Here’s the first thing: Don’t get overwhelmed! Managing a web site has become more and more complicated over the years. There is simply a whole lot more to think about these days. Integration with social media, search engine optimization, and monetizing your site, just to name the most obvious.

The good news is that we’ve consolidated all of these things and put them in one place for you. The bad news is that, in order for us to do this and make it work for everybody, there needed to be a ton of options. It is easy to get overwhelmed.

Always keep in mind that opportunex™ was built so that anyone with basic Facebook skills can do this! If you take your time and read along you’ll keep from getting lost in “optionville”. Just look at each task as just a series of simple options, and complete them one by one.

Stick to the basics at first. Change some colors, upload your logo, add a background and personalize the content to suit your needs and message. Keep in mind that your website works out of the box! You just have to set up a few options and you can go immediately to market. Most people who have paid for their website to be built for them are jealous of you right now… because everything in your site works. So, just follow along and you’ll be fine.

If you’re not logged-in to your dashboard, you should do so now. Some of the following links will not work unless you’re logged-in. Here’s a small list of things that you can do to get going with your new web site:

1. Complete your site setup. If you haven’t finished your site setup, you should go and do this now. Click here to go to your web site’s setup utility, if you’re logged in, or from the dashboard anytime by selecting Wealth Builder->Setup utility. This provides a quick start guide to getting your web site up and running with links to set up your email tools, analytics, SEO and more.
2. Upload your logo. Create an image or find one that you can use for a logo. Make sure to be careful of copyrights! If you need help on this go to Links & Resources on www.opportunex.com. You can also find great images to work with at Dreamstime, Fotolia and Sutterstock. If you’re logged-in, you can Click here to upload your logo Otherwise, you can get there from you dashboard by selecting PageLines->Settings and choosing the Website Setup tab. On this page, you can set several other options, including setting up your site to work with your Twitter account.
3. Change the content. To get going, you’ll need to change the default content and replace it with your own text, images and links. In most cases, you can do this from the dashboard by clicking on the Pages or Posts menu option. Other content is embedded in sections in PageLines Template Options or, click the “PageLines Meta Settings” tab (located under the main content box in each of the individual page settings). There are some videos that will walk you trough all of this in the Tutorials section at www.opportunex.com.
4. Update your contact form. We have added a contact form to your web site. You will want to visit the contact form setup page (or from your dashboard by selecting Contact Forms->Form Settings) to add your email address and customize any of the options that you want.
5. Modify the FAQ Section. The FAQ section is just sample content. You can modify the questions and answers to suit your needs or you can remove the page altogether. Click here to modify the FAQs, if you’re logged in, or from your dashboard anytime by clicking on FAQ Manager->FAQs.
6. Replace Banner Ads. In order to show you how the banner ads work, we added a few for you. Keep in mind that these are all ads that have our affiliate links in them. So, we’d be happy if you kept them as they are. But, we know you’ll probably want to add your own Click here to modify the Banner Ads. You can get there anytime from the dashboard by clicking the “Ad Manager” button.
7. Start working on your SEO. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) helps search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing find and categorize your site. In time, proper organic SEO can help push your site to the top of the search engines and get you tons of traffic! SEO is one of the most important things you can do for your web site. This is an exhaustive topic, so don’t get stuck on the subject. You can learn more about SEO by clicking here.

   For now, just familiarize your self with basics of the tools we’ve embedded by clicking here, if you’re logged-in, or by clicking “SEO Tools” from your dashboard anytime. Then, visit each one of your pages and posts, click on the SEO tab (below the main content area) and add an SEO Title, Meta Description and a Key Word or phrase. You will find the SEO tab available on nearly all content options. It is a good habit to add this information as you go along.

8. Wealth Builder Tools. One of the biggest advantages of being an opportunex™ premium member is that you get access to the Wealth Builder tools! You can access these exclusive tools by clicking here, if you’re logged-on, or from the dashboard by clicking “Wealth Builder”. The Wealth Builder tools are a collection of step-by-step instructions, tutorial videos, links and other information that is completely integrated with your website and with your WordPress dashboard. All of this content has been organized to help you get up and running quickly and to find success online!

There are many more options that you can explore from your dashboard, but this list should get you on your way. Have fun and experiment. But don’t get bogged down or distracted.
